Here are some of the activities and resources we have to offer:

Co-Op Classes - Where moms, dads, and others in the community co-teach our children in classes such as Art,  Creative Writing, various science classes, US government and Literature discussion classes.

Field Trips - Fun and educational outing for all ages.

Fun Days - Swimming, ice skating, playing at a nearby park, meeting with other home school groups, and other fun activities.

CHELC also offers:

Newsletter - Several pages of informative news, calendar of events, crafts, freebies, great websites, scripture, and sale items.  Our monthly newsletter is e-mailed to all members monthly and is available on the CHELC Message Boards as well.

Mobile Library - Has resources about starting to home school, encouragement, the "how-to's" and many other helpful topics.  Our Librarian has these materials available at all forum classes.

Phone & Email Chain - The phone chain is only used for urgent messages.  We prefer the email loop to alert families of home school news and activities in the Upstate.  We also send Friday Forum, field trip, and fun day information and reminders for upcoming events via email.

We hope this has given you a glimpse of the support and activities we have in Laurens County for home schooling.   Please  Contact CHELC if you would like to find out more information about this home school support group.

CHELC Statement of Faith

1.         The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God and constitutes completed and final revelation.  The Bible, in its original autograph, is without error in whole and in part; including theological concepts as well as geographical and historical details.

2.         God has existed from all eternity in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  Jesus Christ is God come in human flesh being fully man except without sin.

3.         All men are in violation of God’s righteous requirements and His holy character both by wrath and just condemnation.  The central purpose of the coming of Jesus Christ was to pay the substitutionary death on the cross – the successful accomplishment of which was attested to by His subsequent visible, bodily resurrection.

4.         Salvation is offered as a gift; free to the sinner.  This gift must by responded to in individual faith, not trusting in any personal works whatsoever, but the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ alone.
